East Coast

Learn more about our activity on the East Coast – the local team, our target species, and what we’re doing to help them.

East Coast

On the East Coast, we have a team of two Species on the Edge officers, Fiona and Tracy, and two Trainee Wardens, Lottie and Luke. Tracy is based in our more northern East Coast area (Buckie to Helmsdale) and Fiona is in the southern (Carnoustie to just south of Aberdeen). Together they are working closely with local communities and land managers to secure a future for seven nationally rare and vulnerable species. Luke and Lottie are both based at the RSPB reserve at Loch of Strathbeg in Aberdeenshire.

  • Habitat creation and improvement
  • Scrub control and removal of invasive non-native species

Get involved

There are so many ways you can get involved with Species on the Edge and support your local species. We have a range of volunteering opportunities and events throughout the year – from work parties, to survey training, to creative workshops – and we are also able to work with land managers to help them support biodiversity on their land. For more information on how you can get involved, get in touch with Tracy or Fiona.
