Learn more about the Species on the Edge programme – who we are, what we’re doing, and why.
Species on the Edge is a bold and ambitious partnership of eight nature conservation organisations in Scotland, all working together to secure a future for Scotland’s most rare and vulnerable coastal wildlife.
We have a team of 18 project officers based across seven project areas. For the duration of the programme (2023 – 2027) our local officers will be working closely with their communities to support them in connecting with and taking action for their local biodiversity. Through this collaborative approach to conservation, we can secure and improve the future for coastal and island species in Scotland, to benefit both nature and people.
Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the partnership consists of Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, The Bat Conservation Trust, Buglife, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Butterfly Conservation, NatureScot, Plantlife, and RSPB Scotland, and is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
