Heidi and her two sons are volunteers with Species on the Edge on the North Coast. Heidi has got in touch requesting a “BIG THANK YOU” be shared on our website to their two local Species on the Edge officers, Louise and Sarah. Here’s what she said:

“As a home-educating mum, I believe that being within Nature is an essential part of learning about the natural world, so it goes without saying that we will continue our surveys and will always love every minute spent in Nature. But as a family, we have to agree that whilst we are wandering along counting bees, seeking the elusive and precious small blue butterfly, challenging eachother to spot and identify as many wildflowers as we can, we will miss the presence of our wonderful North Coast SotE People Engagement Officer, Louise, and Senior Project Officer, Sarah, when the programme comes to an end. Our nature surveys won’t be the same without them.

They have taught us so much over the past few years and have contributed greatly to my children’s education. Louise and Sarah’s knowledge, infectious enthusiasm, patience and willingness to go the extra mile has been wonderful.

So, please give a BIG THANKYOU to Louise and Sarah from their North Coast volunteers.”

Thank you to Heidi for passing on such kind words. And to Heidi, you’ve still got Sarah and Louise for another year and a bit, so still many more BeeWalks, butterfly counts and wildflower wanders with Sarah and Louise yet to come 💙
