Bumblebees do an amazing job pollinating our crops and wildflowers. But as our towns and countryside change, there are fewer flowers to feed on, so bumblebees need a helping hand to survive.
The good news is that we can all do our bit to Bee the Change! Here’s 5 simple ways you can help bumblebees at home or in your local community. Share with your friends and family to inspire them to get involved!
Find out more about how you can help bumblebees on Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Bee the Change webpage.
1. Grow plants which flower in different seasons so bumblebees have food throughout the year
Explore Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s monthly planting guides.

2. Mow your lawn less often so flowers can bloom
Do something for bumblebees by not doing something – can’t get simpler than that! Find out about how ‘weeds’ feed bumblebees here.

3. Grow your own herbs, fruit and veg – bumblebees love the flowers and will help pollinate your food!
Explore Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Grow your own fruit and vegetables and Grow your own herbs guides.

4. Make space for bumblebee nests. They like to nest in long tangled grass, compost heaps and bird boxes.
You can even build your own bee hotel!
5. Spread the word! Tell someone else why bumblebees are important and how to help them.
Bee costume not necessary but encouraged.
