Habitat Work Party, Culbin Sands, 12 February
- What: Join us as we link up with RSPB for a day of practical conservation. We will be selectively removing encroaching scrub, mainly gorse. This will benefit both kidney vetch and bird’s-foot trefoil, the sole larval foodplants of the Small Blue and dingy skipper butterflies. The tides are perfect for a visit to the very far end of the bar where the Small Blue colony is strongest. Please be aware that this is a long walk out, around 3.5 miles each way so you do require a reasonable degree of fitness for this event. We will work until around 3pm depending on how folks are feeling and the weather.
- When: Thursday 12th February, 9am – 3pm
- Where: Culbin, meet at Cloddymoss car park: what3words//embraced.applauded.surveyors
