Butterfly Habitat Work Party, Colvend, 18th February

 

  • What: Join us for a day of practical conservation to improve habitat for one of Scotland’s rarest and most threatened butterflies – the northern brown argus. We will be selectively removing gorse scrub on farmland to benefit common rock rose – the sole foodplant of the butterfly. 
  • When: Tuesday 18th February, 9:45am – 3pm
  • Where: Meet at Colvend Public Hall, DG5 4QD

    • No prior experience necessary.
    • Please be prepared to share vehicles to the farm and walk 1km to the site.
    • Hand tools and personal protective equipment will be provided on the day. Please wear warm, weather-protective clothing and sturdy footwear. Please also consider bringing lunch and a hot drink.
    • Sorry, but no under 18s.
