Butterfly Picnic at the Bar, Culbin Sands, 9 June

 

  • What: Join Species on the Edge and RSPB for a walk out to the shingle bar to see the benefits of our recent scrub clearing work at the west end of the Culbin Sands reserve and hopefully see the tiny but mighty Small Blue! Bring the binoculars and scopes – cake will be provided. We will check a moth trap on the walk out. 
  • When: Tuesday 9th June, 9:30am
  • Where: Culbin Sands. Meet at Cloddymoss at 9:30am. What3words/// barstool.bill.loom

  • More details:
    • Bring lunch and plenty of water.
    • Dress for the weather (but fingers crossed for a clear day!)
    • The walk will be about 1.5 hours each way; high tide is at 6:35am so prioritise comfortable walking boots.
    • There are no formal toilet facilities at Culbin sands, and the nearest indoor toilets are at Brodie.
