Butterfly Habitat Work Party, Solway Coast, 25 February

 

  • What: Join us for a day of practical conservation to improve habitat for one of Scotland’s rarest and most threatened butterflies – the Northern Brown Argus. We will be selectively removing gorse scrub on farmland to benefit common rock rose, the sole foodplant of the butterfly. 
  • When: Wednesday 25th February, 10am – 3pm
  • Where: meet at Knockbrex House, Borgue, DG6 4UE

    • No previous experience necessary.
    • Hand tools and personal protective equipment will be provided on the day, but please bring your own if you can. 
    • Please wear warm, weather-protective clothing and sturdy footwear. Please also consider brining lunch and a hot drink.
    • Sorry, but no under 18s.
